  • PIN rotates every 40 seconds

  • No sign-in for anyone

    HOW TO USE

    How QR attendance works

Open a session, project the QR, students scan with their phone camera and the roll fills in live. Nobody signs in.

    1. Open the sessionEnter the course, how long check-in stays open and when late starts. You get a 6-character room code and a host key kept in this browser.
    2. Project the QR codeGo full screen. Students scan with their camera, enter ID and name, and tap check in — prefilled next time.
    3. Watch the roll fill inThe table refreshes every 5 seconds, marks late arrivals and flags one phone checking in several IDs.
    4. Close and exportClose check-in, paste the class roster to see who is absent, then download Excel or CSV for the registrar.

    Tips

    • Keep the rotating PIN on — a link forwarded over LINE dies within about a minute.
    • A student who cannot scan can type the short address under the QR and enter the room code and PIN.
    • Copy the host key if you will open the dashboard on another device.
    FAQ

    Frequently asked

How does it stop students forwarding the link?

The QR on screen embeds a PIN that changes every 40 seconds, so a forwarded link or screenshot expires within about a minute. Each phone also gets a random cookie; if one phone checks in several IDs the rows are flagged "same device" in your list.

A student cannot scan or has no data

They can type the short address under the QR and enter the room code and PIN shown on screen, or you add them by hand from the dashboard (the row is marked "added by instructor").

Can I open the dashboard on another device?

Yes — use the room code and host key (shown on the dashboard under "Host key for this session") in the "Already have a room code" box. Never project the host key: anyone with it can see the roll and close the session.
